About the event
The Margate School of Arts is pleased to present NOT NOT EGGS, a solo exhibition by Finnish artist and designer Roosa Tulvio, opening at the Swartzman Gallery in January 2026.
NOT NOT EGGS is an immersive, tactile dreamscape that exists between fertility and rot, action and silence. Through installation, sound, projection and textiles, Tulvio transforms the gallery into a spatial meditation on desire, creation, and becoming. The exhibition is an ode to the imaginary babies that were never to be, to the body that incubates and blooms, and to the hands that insist on making something out of nothing.
The title draws on Sheila Heti’s writing on motherhood and identity, embracing negation as a generative space. Rather than defining the self through absence, NOT NOT EGGS proposes a state of openness: not lack, not refusal, but possibility.
