9th February, 2023

5 - 6pm

The Margate School / Auditorium

This event is a follow on to Margate Festival of Design, held in September 2022.

When faced with such a complex challenge like the climate and bio-diversity crisis, how does design need to evolve? What role might systemic design play in addressing these issues? In this talk, we will introduce Design Council’s latest thinking on systemic design, and how it can help us to achieve and go beyond a net zero world.

As the UK's national strategic advisor for design, the Design Council champions the brilliant, leads on new thinking, evidences value and influences policy to create an environment for design to thrive. At Design Council Bernard Hay leads a national programme of research into the social, environmental and economic value of design to the UK – and the Design for Planet Fellowship. He also co-convenes the Design Council’s expert network to explore new design skills and methods to address the climate and biodiversity crises.
