This quick-fire introduction to black and white photography is suited to anyone who wants to explore analogue photography for the first time or is in need of a refresher.
Whether you have an old camera you would like to put to use or simply like the idea of learning analogue image-making, this course will give you the overview of the process from the camera to the final print.
The morning session will involve a brief photo walk in Margate town centre, or you may shoot your film in advance, after which you will learn to process the film. The afternoon will be spent in the darkroom where you will use the enlarger to make prints from some of your negatives.
All photographic materials are included. We can lend cameras but if you have your own we encourage you to use it.
The course will also serve as the induction giving you continued access to the darkroom at The Margate School.
