About the Event
In this workshop, you will explore some of the basics of analogue photography in a creative and fun way. Using recycled materials you will start by making your own DIY pinhole camera (or several). You will then have time to expose a few shots before processing and printing the black-and-white images in the darkroom.
This workshop is a great introduction to the darkroom and photographic process.
Here's what you'll learn:
- Basic principles of camera and lens function
- Building your camera
- Developing your paper negative
- Checking for exposure
- Making a contact print
No previous experience in analogue photography is required and photographic paper and chemistry are provided.

Dominic Rose is TMS Analogue Photography Coordinator and a multi-disciplinary artist living in Margate. Using Photography and a range of found materials, he focuses on the interaction between humans and the environment, order and chaos, the sublime and the mundane.
