Artist Spotlight: David Ellis, Studio Resident
David Ellis, acoustic singer, songwriter and studio resident at The Margate School (TMS), shared his latest news on our Instagram page over the weekend as part of our #TMSTakeovers.
Since joining TMS, David has enjoyed collaborating with other studio residents whilst producing merchandise and gig posters for his shows using the screen printing facilities. He’s looking forward to more collaborations with other TMS studio residents soon.
Aside from work in the studios, David’s main vocation is actually as a musician, most notably performing as lead guitarist for British Rock Band @razorlightofficial.
David embarked on UK and European tours whilst he co-wrote and produced a top 20 album over the 3 years he played with the band.
David is inspired by the great songwriters of the 70s such as @jonimitchell, Neil Young and @bobdylan. In 2019, he released a debut album Misty Heights which was chosen as BBC introducing record of the week upon its release. His 12" LP's available if you would like to purchase one.
