Service Description

Margate Tech Club is a free drop-in which takes place on the last Saturday of each month. Learn within a safe and welcoming space where you and your family can explore and play with tech, under the supervision and guidance of helpful experts. The Tech Club includes a workshop activity, which you can sign up for on the day. Please bring along a laptop if you have one. Margate Tech Club is free to attend, however, we will kindly ask for donations in order to keep future Tech Clubs running. Margate Tech Club regulars include: Genetic Moo and Matt Mapleston. The following dates have been confirmed for future Margate Tech Clubs. 26th February 26th March 30th April 28th May July - TBC 27th August 24th September 29th October 26th November 10th December About Genetic Moo: Genetic Moo is a collaboration between Margate-based digital artists Nicola Schauerman and Tim Pickup. They specialise in making interactive art which encourages experimentation and play and have exhibited extensively in the UK and abroad. They have taught thousands of people creative coding over the last 5 years, many hundreds in Margate. Nicola is a qualified teacher with over 20 years teaching experience. About Matt Mapleston Matt Mapleston is an Engineer. He started designing computers for RAF jets. Engineers like Matt solve problems using any technology that could help and love helping others to do the same. Now Matt works with 3D printing, computer programming and electronics for lots of different people. He made The Geekery in Margate to be his perfect workshop and a place to share the joy of technology.
