Ruyin Nabizadeh

Ruyin Nabizadeh is an Iranian visual artist and curator based in Margate and is a member of The Margate School community. His practice includes installation, text and sound and focuses on deep histories, particularly hierarchies within cultural production and the intersection of queerness, hospitality within representational traditions. Ruyin investigates queer-feminist strategies expanding aesthetic traditions to include more voices and perspectives. He is interested in facilitating newer forms of identification/ disidentification untouched by dominant power structures; cultivating polyvocality and respected differences.
Ruyin received his BA in History of Art and Fine Art and his MA from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2019, with research in Post-colonial Artistic Positions and Modalities of Representation. He is currently a researcher at Azad Gallery (Tehran) as well as being a founding member of the artistic collective Bambi Woods, Space 52 and Ergo Space (Athens).
