Overview
This half day walk and workshop is a great opportunity to make use of your film camera. Taking in some of the sights and sounds, we will go for a leisurely walk around Margate town centre, exposing a roll of film. We will then return to the Margate School of Art Darkroom to process your negatives.
Any medium format or 35mm film camera of any vintage will do. We will be on hand to help test or troubleshoot, or cameras/SLRs are available to borrow. A roll of black and white film will be provided as well as all chemicals required.
This workshop is suitable for anyone of any level of experience, whether you are completely new to film photography, or in need of a refresher.
By the end of the course, students will have:

Explored and documented the local area, guided by an experienced photographer

Processed a roll of black and white film in TMS's darkroom

Dominic Rose is Analogue Photography Coordinator at The Margate School with over 25 years of experience of film photography. His interests include psychogeography and the interplay between human society and the environment.
