Course tutor
Arnold Borgerth is a photographer and teacher who has exhibited widely across South America and the UK. Arnold is a Photography Lecturer at Goldsmiths, University of London and works as a freelance photographer for the arts and design sector. Originally from Brazil and currently based in Margate, Arnold has been a practicing photographer since 1980.

Overview
This part time (2 evenings per week on Mondays and Thursdays)
course combines technical instruction with creative critique, providing students with the foundations to build or develop their photographic practice.
Relevant for both analog and digital image makers, this course will provide students with a deep understanding regarding what light and its relationship with the photographic image actually is. Lighting techniques (for both natural and artificial light sources) will be introduced helping the participants challenge and expand their creative and compositional skills.
Using a series of simple assignments, practical demonstrations, presentations and critiques, this course aims to expand your technical and conceptual understanding of what photography is, and how you can use it to reach the next level in image making.
This course is open to anyone: a newcomer or beginner interested in photography, or more experienced photographers wishing to deepen their practice.
By the end of the course, students will have:
