COVID Guidance & Precautions

As you may be aware a new variant of the Covid19 Virus has made its way to the UK, in response to this we have decided to increase our Covid precautions here at the school.

TMS precautions

For your own protection and the protection of others, mask/visor wearing will now be strongly advised for close contact sessions as well as in all communal areas in the School unless you are exempt. We also encourage you to be mindful of social distancing. We accept that when speaking and presenting during sessions, masks may need to be removed. Please use your own discretion in these circumstances.

Throughout the pandemic, we have had our lovely cleaner Jane in on a daily basis. Jane disinfects all touchpoints (handrails, door handles) as well as washrooms, chairs/desks. In addition to this we still encourage you to use the provided disinfectant spray before/after use of communal appliances (E.g microwave). Please continue to use your own mugs and cutlery and wash after use.

Hand sanitisers are provided at multiple locations in the building, please utilise these and also give us a heads up if they are running low.

Lateral Flow Tests

TMS Staff have been testing with Lateral Flow tests and we ask all students, tutors and studio holders to do the same. We advise to test on a weekly basis or on days where you will be coming into the school. Guidance on how to obtain these for free can be found here.

What to do if you are showing symptoms, have tested positive or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid19

Take a lateral flow test or PCR test as per government guidance and contact the school at the earliest opportunity.

For Art, Society, Nature students and tutors please contact both

francesca@themargateschool and shirley@themargateschool

For Design, Society, Nature students and tutors please contact

becky@themargateschool and uwe@themargateschool

We ask that you do not come into the building for 10 days if you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive.

To help us ensure the safety of the TMS community please continue to sign in and out of the building so we have an accurate record of who is/has been in the space.

Visitors to exhibitions and public events will also be required to wear masks in line with current government guidance.

Government guidance can be found here.

Keep well and stay safe!
