KCF funding for Margate Tech Club

The Margate School is pleased to announce that we have been awarded some funding from Kent Community Fund to keep our popular family event, Margate Tech Club going during 2022.

The funds awarded will be instrumental in securing the monthly event up to December 2022. The money will be spent on much-needed equipment for attendees who do not have their own laptops, and towards coordinating and marketing the events.

Up until now, Margate Tech Club has been entirely enabled by volunteers and visitor donations. Whilst there will still be a volunteer element, the funds mean that we can now pay a small fee to guest experts, which in turn means we can show new and exciting tech to our visiting families each month.

Margate Tech Club is a family-friendly drop-in event, held on the last Saturday of every month. It’s aimed at families with children aged 8+ and gives families an opportunity to explore tech in a safe, welcoming environment, with experts on hand to demonstrate projects, facilitate workshops and answer questions.
